HUF town house:
Urban living with riverside views

Designed to enjoy nature

Acres of gardens and widespread plots are not commonplace in an urban environment - something you may consider an issue for our glazed architecture, most usually photographed independently nestled amongst spawling lawns and gardens. Well, think again! This HUF HAUS town house in Twickenham was designed to enjoy all the aspects and benefits of a HUF home while not compromising on space, freedom or privacy.

Keith and Suneel were the fortunate owners of a splendid plot overlooking the River Thames; a stunning prospect but they were not certain a HUF home would be possible - until they met Peter Huf. Peter worked with the couple and designed a town house with generous glass façades to enjoy the beautiful, ever-changing light and scenery of the riverside, all whilst sitting comfortably and sympathetically alongside the neighbouring listed building.

Adding individuality

"I expected that the planning process would be a challenge for this project, considering the restrictive nature of the plot being in a conservation area, and so close to a listed building" says Peter Huf, UK architect: "Taking influence from the neighbouring houses of which vary in height, width, material, and size, we decided to bridge the gap between the staggered heights of the immediate neighbours and introduce a 2.5-storey building - a town house. This streamlined approach compliments the existing buildings while adding a touch individuality to the street scene.”
